Academic Resource Program

The Academic Resource Program's goal is to produce successful students, who are independent learners, prepared to meet and overcome challenges. We strive to create learners, who understand their strengths and weaknesses and develop strategies to use their strengths to overcome weaker areas. Through the Resource Program at SRA, teachers and students work together to nurture and help each student reach their fullest potential and achieve success.

We believe that each student is unique and we work to create a plan tailored to fit each student individually. The services provided are driven by the individual strengths and needs of each student.  The academic coach is a familiar face, Mrs. Mandie Williams, who has years of experience in curriculum management and individualizing it to the current student’s needs. The academic coach works with a student outside of the regular classroom two to three times each week in one-on-one or small group settings during the school day. The coach will supplement regular classroom instruction with additional practice and review in specific subject and skill areas. The coach works closely with the classroom teacher.

Specific areas of instruction include:

  • ELA-spelling/grammar/vocabulary
  • Math Skills
  • Reading fluency and comprehension
  • Time management/study skills
  • The primary goal of the Resource Program sessions is to increase the student's level of academic independence and to help the student leverage academic strengths. Coaches will typically meet twice a week with the student.

Cost: $180/month *Parents will be invoiced at the end of each month the student is enrolled in the Resource Program.
Research tells us that children learn in a variety of ways. Understanding and addressing these differences helps the Academic Resource Program to be more effective in preparing students to succeed academically.
